Long-term Data
The Taï Chimpanzee Project is a long-term project with well defined data collection protocols, which are implemented since decades (read more about the protocols). During this time we have constantly increased the data set, including behavioural, demography, ecological and climate data, biological and environmental samples, and others.
Since more than a decade TCP shares data with collaborators on:

Multi-site, multi-species comparisons (e.g. Feder et al. 2026, Eleuteri et al. 2025, Ellis et al. 2022, Colchero et al. 2021).

By inviting researchers with new expertise to access the field site (e.g. Maro et al. 2025, Boucher et al. 2024, McCarthy et al. 2021, Fröhlich et al. 2020, Oelze et al. 2020, Schultz-Kornas et al. 2019).

Questions as part of a larger consortium (e.g. Evolution of Brain Connectivity: Becker et al. 2025, Eichner et al. 2024; PanAf: Ostridge et al. 2025, Kühl et al. 2019; DFG Researcher Group SoHaPi: Schülke et al. 2022)

Using collected data or sample set that is not central to ongoing research (Eppley et al. 2024, Oelze et al. 2023, Minhos et al 2023).
Collaborations are crucial to our success as a field site and has helped TCP to become one of the most productive long-term field sites (see graphs to the right).
