Collaborations

Collaborations are a crucial part of TCP's research concept. Over the last 15 years we have implemented many collaborations across the international research community. During this time TCP has shared data with collaborators on:

  • Multi-site, multi-species comparisons (e.g. Feder et al. 2026, Eleuteri et al. 2025, Ellis et al. 2022, Colchero et al. 2021).

  • Questions as part of a larger consortium (e.g. Evolution of Brain Connectivity: Becker et al. 2025, Eichner et al. 2024; PanAf: Ostridge et al. 2025, Kühl et al. 2019; DFG Researcher Group SoHaPi: Schülke et al. 2022)

  • Using data or samples not central to ongoing research (Eppley et al. 2024, Oelze et al. 2023, Minhos et al 2023).

Over the years we also invited researchers from all over the world to conduct research at TCP, using our infrastructure while bringing new expertise or comparative questions to the field site (here are few highlights):

  • roots of alcohol consumption (Maro et al. 2025)

  • archaeological methods (Luncz, Wittig & Boesch 2015, Schultz-Kornas et al. 2019)

  • isotope analysis (Boucher et al. 2024, Oelze et al. 2020)

  • gestural communication (Fröhlich et al. 2020)

  • remote data collection (McCarthy et al. 2021)

  • seed dispersal by dung beetles (Koffi et al. 2022)

About 30% of our high impact scientific output is based on collaborations. Collaborations have been an important tool for our standing as one of the most important long-term field sites for research in the the scientific world.
